Development

Since AI was officially proposed in 1956, AI has made great achievements. Together with bioengineering and space technology, becomes one of the three major sophisticated technologies.

The three most active fields of AI technology are: Expert System, Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Robot.

The research process of AI is harder and more complicated than some experts had speculated when it just started and understanding human’s perception and intelligence mechanism is still one of the hardest and most complicated subjects.

But AI is infiltrating many fields, and will bring revolutionary changes to these fields. And no difficulty can stop the development of AI. With the development of modern information technology with computer technology as its core, there is a new vital force brought to AI especially in the fields of Natural Language Understanding, Natural Language Processing.

After years of translation technology researching, Mr Zhang Longbu of AItrans Technology proposed the computer translation theory of multi-engine hybrid translation theory and implemented the computer translation system of MT+TM+IT in more than two years. Later he keenly realized the far-reaching influence of the development of AI to translation technology and suggested that computer translation technology must take the road of AI. And in 2003 he was first to propose the concept of AI-TRANS and led AI Technology team to study AI translation technology.

In 2004, the design of AI knowledge base and AI knowledge based computer intelligent translation experimental system.

In 2008, AI knowledge based computer intelligent translation system was applied in practice.

In 2009, TM++ Professional was applied to professional translation system.

In 2010, online intelligent translation experimental system was complete.

After the specific and detailed testing of every function (including human-machine interactive translation, intelligent self-learning, super intelligent processing, super intelligent display/mark and intelligent knowledge base module) of intelligent translation system of AI technology by State Information Center Software Testing Center, the result showed every function achieved the expected goal and passed the testing. The overall evaluation by the experts is “a creation in the world-- translation product of artificial intelligence, with independent intellectual property rights, and in leading position compared with like machine translation products and enjoys a promising market”.
