Before the launch of our website, few people believed high quality computer aided automatic translation could be achieved in 5-10years. And the reason is that translating with computer-aided technology is a cross-century conundrum, because source language is varied and changing. To convert a language into a different one takes a great amount of creative efforts. People have plotted out the idea of MT since the 1930s. With the development of computer technology, various types of computer translation systems and technologies had been appeared one by one, such as ED (Electronic Dictionary), Machine Translation (MT), TM (Translation Memory) and CAT (Computer Aided Technology) etc. And these systems focus on one aspect or several aspects of a language separately to conduct language transforming work and have made substantive progress in some fields and become practicalized. But as to the whole sentence or whole passage translation, due to the inherent defects, language transferring work the systems have done to substitute man is little or the transferring quality is poor and can not meet the actual requirements, let alone replacing people completely. Analyzing the causes, the main one is the difficulty, scope and depth of natural language understanding. Another one is the limits of previous computer artificial intelligence technology and linguistic element algorithm.
